What contouring cream product did you use on your mom? Thank you in advance. Enjoyed the tutorial.
AdviseMyStyle (1 year ago)
Hiiii Christiane! It is my favourite contouring powder by Kevin Aucoin. Kevin Aucoin contouring powder in Medium.

You are so right. We mature women can't go by what 18 year old girls do. Good for you.
AdviseMyStyle (1 year ago)
Yeeessss!!! That would be an awesome video! How I turned my mom in an Instagram queen. :)
flower love (1 year ago)
Long time no see! You are so so good when you are doing your mums makeup or another mature woman. You must be so bored with all those young models and their perfect skin! Where's the challenge?? You're so smart and talented, you would be smashing if you were teaching these concepts to women with...life experience. You have so many talents, but the camera loves you!
AdviseMyStyle (1 year ago)
Paaaattt!!! All good! I just really wish to find some mature models. :) Thank you for the love and will soon update the website. :)
flower love (1 year ago)
Ohhh, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to critisize, just playing a little because I enjoy you so much! Wish I was a little closer, I'd bring some friends to you. I went to the website to put a word in for you but couldn't find a place to do it. I like seeing how you change in your video's sometimes. I'll keep watching, hope you are happy!
AdviseMyStyle (1 year ago)
Paaaaaattttt!!! I am still struggling to get mature women in my studio! I stop them everywhere and asked my mom to help, my aunt, my experienced (Love the word!) friends, but they just don't wanna show them selves on the camera. :(
Lilian Alshammari (2 years ago)
Great. What is the shape of your mums' eyes?
AdviseMyStyle (2 years ago)
+Lilian Alshammari Deep set, upturned, but hooded. As I said...Go to my website www.advisemystyle.com

Your mom is so beautiful! She should be a model, and now she is! She has beautiful bone structure.. I agree with you.. I am 55, and I don't do any of that contouring.. I don't want any more 'sharpness' to my face. I use some blush. I find that the less layers of crap I put on my face the better it looks. I also appreciate you and her sharing the "reality" of what we can expect of our skin. I have not yet experienced some of the things you are showing here, but no doubt I will eventually. I will save myself the trouble and not bother with any of that contouring business :)
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+oliviaD Yeeeeesssss!!! Wait that I see my mum again! I planned a perfect video for you! :) Hope she lets me do it. :) I wanna cake her up like the girls do on Youtube and then wipe it off and do it my way. :)

Hi! Try some translucent powder to blend over the contour..it helps me a lot. Love seeing your mom, she is beautiful! PS As I age, I enjoy oil-based products very much. I just bought a number of decent foundations, concealers, and a cream blush palette I cannot wait to come in my mail! Loved this video!xx
That is good information. I am not on High def camera most of the time, so just in real life it helps me get color to move if it gets patchy. Im just the average woman down the street or at the market, lol
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+TerrieJ DimestoreDivaTV Ciiiiaaaaooo my V.I.P. :) I don't use translucent powder on dry skin, because it makes it ashey when looking at it from the angle. Thank you for the suggestion though, but I am trying to avoid powder as much as I can. :)

Aloha Leslie (3 years ago)
Aloha! Yes, as a mature woman, I've found that contouring my cheeks is a lose-lose situation. You're really the first to state this. I do apply bronzer but even then, as good as my skin is, there's just enough melasma and little places that makes it virtually impossible for it to look really great, IMHO! Looking forward to more...mahalo nui loa...
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
@Aloha Leslie So coooooollll!!! I have a really good Hawaiian friend and she is sooooooooo lovely! Sun damage is really hard to reverse. The best is to use creams based on Glcobiology as the pixel lasers don't work on the long run. I know where you are getting from, but mature women don't have big social networks on the internet and don't tend to share my videos that much. Therefore I am trying to make a balance and models aged 35-45 sound quite cool. I think? :)
Aloha Leslie (3 years ago)
There's a lot of us mature baby boomers (over 60) out here!  You shouldn't ever be without many women who wouldn't love your simple and classy style.  While I love and have learned much from the tutorials for mature skin and the lovely women who do them, I don't usually wear that much makeup. Most of the women who live in Hawaii or come from Hawaii, are used to a more natural sun kissed, and yes, sun damaged, come from the beach "no makeup" look. I've been living in Seattle the last couple of years and my goal right now is to reverse the many years of sun damage that occurred after 16 years of living in Paradise. LOL  And at my age...it isn't easy of fast. :)  Malama pono and have a beautiful day.
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
Aaaallllooooohhhaaaa!!! :) That's Hawaiian is it? Glad you liked it. Am trying to put more mature women in my channel. :)
Mindy Kay (3 years ago)
Yay! I'm so glad hope2nou95 referred me to your channel! I am 56 years young and looking for make up tips and tricks for mature skin. I am a natural blonde with a light/medium skin tone. I would love to see a tutorial on natural looking make up for every day. You are very entertaining and I look forward to following your channel! Hugs from the USA!
Mindy Kay (3 years ago)
Wonderful!  I can't wait to be inspired  :)
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Mindy Kay So coooooollll! Thank you babes! Will post a natural makeup tutorial on my mum this Sunday. :)
Yosra Ryan (3 years ago)
Beautiful mummyyyy ❤️
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Yosra Ryan She iiisssss!!! I love her so much. :)
Riza hariati (3 years ago)
Your mom has a very nice bone structure, I don't think she needs contouring. Maybe you should ask your friends mom who has a bit more chubby face?
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Riza hariati Ciiiiaaaaaaoooo!!! No worries babe. Will get more mature models in my videos soon. :) I know mostly foreigners in England, so we don't have our mums here. :(
Yashuas Cousin (3 years ago)
I believe for any age person it's all about HIGHLIGHTING for everyday makeup vs. contouring to bring up your features and brighten your face and give it a translucent glow. U.S. women in particular have become crazy about heavy foundation and contouring.
Yashuas Cousin (3 years ago)
Cool! I can't wait to see them.
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Yashuas Cousin Heeeeyyyy!!! You're back! :) I totally agree with you. :) Let me do a couple of videos on the art of highlighting. :)
Hatice Turan (3 years ago)
Ciaoooooo, thanks for the nice tips. I usually don't like contour and blush on my face because I really don't know how to use unfortunately I look like a clown when I try hahah :) Big hug and kisses to our dolce chicobello and his bellissima mamma <3
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Hatice Turan Loooooveeee yyyoooouuuu!!! :) I actually do feel like we are friends. You girls have such positive vibe which makes us a unique community. :)
Hatice Turan (3 years ago)
OMG!! I'm so happy to be in your blog.Thank you for this honor, thank you for this great friendship. You don't act like we are your fan and you are an inaccessible superstar, you act like we are your best friends and this is what makes you our superstar. Keep yourself full of love! :) :) :)
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Hatice Turan Chicabeeeelllllaaaaaa!!! Tomorrow I am posting your photos and I am very excited. :) We can always chat on Skype and I help you. :)
LadyKoKo B (3 years ago)
I just don't do contour either ... its a messy dirty look on my cheeks. Blusher does the job on my mature skin  :)
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+LadyKoKo B Bravo! I know I said I don't put blush on the round face, but it depends. Sometimes I do. My ex-girlfriend had quite a round face so the oooooolllllldddd videos on contouring and blushing might help you. :) https://youtu.be/s0FsdnWuXBo?t=1m59s
LadyKoKo B (3 years ago)
+AdviseMyStyle I use the very light colour powder blushers ( these are so HARD to FIND - many are so strong in colour and I have a round face - you can look like a clown! LOL )  and I have 2 Chanel crème blushers .
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+LadyKoKo B Do you use powder blusher? :)
blackporcupine (3 years ago)
these tutorials are great! I am going to try this on my mum when I get home! your mum is so beautiful and nice :)
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
Heeeeyyy!!! Where are you from? I would love to see the makeup you did on your mum. If you copy the look, I can post it on my blog. :)
RoByn M (3 years ago)
This is great Video ! 😊 so little info on YouTube to get good makeup advise for mature women Thanks so much ! Oh love your mum 😃
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
I know!!! This is why I decided to do more makeup tutorials for mature skin. :)
Sarah Nielsen (3 years ago)
Wow gorgeous mom radiant and beautiful skin! May I ask your advise on how to avoid concealer looking caky and dry around nostrils when trying to hide redness? Thanks ever so much - love your vids
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+S Nielsen Not a problem, but to be honest, it is really hard to do a good job. Sensai's Hydra Mask helps a lot, but it is really expensive. Or rub it with Clarisonic. :) The most important is the foundation though. Something like LaPrairie doesn't flake. :)
Sarah Nielsen (3 years ago)
+AdviseMyStyle Thank you Jure I Will try this. Really appreciate you taking your time to reply ❤️❤️❤️
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+S Nielsen Usually redness around the nose is caused by sensitive skin. Sensitive skin is usually caused by dry skin surface so concealers end up being caky. Touche Eclat by YSL should do a good job otherwise the answer is exfoliate and moisturize. :)
Butter Fly (3 years ago)
So helpful Jure! Thank you!
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
I hope so too. :*
Butter Fly (3 years ago)
😊I believe what you give out in this world comes back to you, at least I hope so...treat others as you would like to be treated yourself...that is my moto!
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Cath Hill I try my best babe! I really like to talk to you girls. You teach me a lot and you have such a positive vibe. :)
Butter Fly (3 years ago)
You are so kind taking the time to reply!
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Cath Hill Feels great when I can help. :) Next year I will start using models from 30 to 50 years of age that I will get through Model Mayhem and Purple Port. :)
Eden Everly (3 years ago)
Your mom is SO pretty, and she wears makeup so beautifully! She has a face for it. I think contouring in general doesn't look so great on women for every day. For photos, yes. Some overall warmth/sun kiss to the face, yes. A touch under the jaw and the chin contour? Yes, that works for me. But the heavy "drag" contouring is just not cute. I don't know how it's so popular because it just looks like brown blotches on the forehead above the temples and then they do massive triangles of concealer under the eyes, which makes them look like reverse panda bears with the contour heavy in the hollows! Icky. Just no. :)
Eden Everly (3 years ago)
Ha ha ha! That's a perfect description.
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Eden Everly Exactly! I don't understand it ether. Girls apply makeup to look prettier and end up looking like burned chocolate muffins. :)
Psu Choki (3 years ago)
Omg I've been travelling and I wasn't able to watch ur videos but now I'm back ready to binge! I love how you try to answer all the questions that the youtubers would be scared to try in fear not to look *perfect*. Plus your mom is really sooooo pretty and rocks short hair!
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Psu Choki Hahahaha! Exactly!!! :) Since Youtube is out, women are far more insecure. :)
Psu Choki (3 years ago)
Most people don't want to do makeup tutorials to teach others anything... they just want to be told they are pretty... And that's completely OK but just not call it a "tutorial" then hahaha!
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Psu Choki Yyyyyyyyeeeeeesssss!!! I noticed! Everyone wants to look so freaking perfect. It can be done on the photos but real life is different!!! You won't believe the number of times when I got the model for my videos and she was far from the photos she sent me. :)

Alex Lira (3 years ago)
Great video and I'm loving the new white background!
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
Thank you for the feedback Chicabella! From now on just white then. What colors should I buy as well? Baby blue, pink...?
bluem00n010 (3 years ago)
+AdviseMyStyle i like the white background more
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Alex Lira Do yoooouuuuu??? Should I use white from now on? That green is really a bit of is it? It is the green wall in my living room so I bought a white background now. I was also thinking about different colors now that I can just buy them. Do you recommend any colors? :)
Hope2NoU95 (3 years ago)
Thanks I think I'll break out my cream. I've been using powder and having that problem, splotches so maybe cream will fix it.
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+hope2nou95 Yeeeeesssss!!! Absolutely!!! :) Let me know if it worked! :*
