Blue DEEP SET Eyes makeup tutorial

369 ratings | 24427 views
I watched the Lion King musicle and decided to do a makeup tutorial for BLUE DEEP SET EYES with basic highlighting. I was so inspired by the Lion King performance that I imitated the sunset on my background. I turned Emily into Nala, Simba's girlfriend! Growing up I always thought something was wrong with my eyes, after watching your videos you made me see I have deep set eyes!!!! I feel so much better know what my eye shape is thank you thank you!!!! I’ve bought so many dark circle creams but I’m realizing that is not my issue lol

I don't know if the content makers ever pop into these videos, I love makeup tutorials, but... I wear contacts. Have for 20+ years, but in the last few, wearing makeup (even the same brands/styles/non-glitters) are very irritating to them. Could you do a blue eye, round face, contact-friendly? Rimmel London's Lash Accelerator (even with fibers!!!) is true all-forever-until-you-wash-off wear, so I have a great mascara, but many powders fall too easy, primers are useless and glitters are like Satan's breath. Even creamier application shadows seem to dry out fairly easy if used heavily to create such a scene. I'm open to new types, new brands, new ways to apply. Anything, so I don't pay the price 5-6 hours post-application and for two days after! (And yes, I've even tried the hint of castor oil, to dry on my lids, then applying powders... so when I say I'm open, we're talking ocean open, here.)

If you guys ever looked back on comments from old videos. :) Makeup and makeup looks for those who wear lenses. Many, many trendy brands are just too loose or need too much application and it makes the eyes very red and irritated. I tried to search videos of makeup tutorials that gave GREAT makeup looks without using a ton of loose powder or glitters. I don't know many makeup brands on the whole, but a tutorial aimed at minimizing the amount of makeup applied but maximizing color for blue eyes, so that lenses don't get polluted during wear doesn't exist. As for eyelid, it's average - neither oily, nor dry. The entire face is the same. No oily zones, no dry/flaky zones.

Heeeyyyy! Sorry for being late. I missed your comment because it's an old video. What do you mean if content creators ever pop into the videos? And I just don't understand your question? Do you mean what makeup to wear when you have contact lenses? Is your eyelid oily or dry?

Emily Mullins (1 year ago)
I love your style of makeup! Why do you prefer skipping the eyeshadow primer or concealer? It doesn't really matter I guess cuz that's not what you're trying to teach in this video. Just curious. Do the shadows last longer or something?
Emily Mullins (1 year ago)
Thank You!
AdviseMyStyle (1 year ago)
+Emily Mullins Hi Emily! You won't believe, but the girl's name you just watched is Emily as well. I actually made a video on primers and loose powder, whether they make the foundation last longer, but they actually don't or they do just slightly. The most important is what quality of eyeshadows you use for your skin type. 😉
Jessica Stemper (1 year ago)
Love it! Thanks for the deep set eyes tutorial.

+Jessica Stemper My pleasure! Have a look on our channel, we have plenty more. :)

I have Greek in me but lots of people have said I have Russian look eyes,I think I look so similar to these girls you use as models. I would love you to do a make tutorial on me, but I live on the Gold Coast Australia where is it always hot hot hot. I haven't found a foundation I can use without looking powdery either, or that melts off in the heat, the ones you use here are dewy looking. Do you have any products to suggest for me for this type of weather and dry combination skin , i am olive skinned toned? Thank you
AdviseMyStyle (2 years ago)
+Swirl Harmony Heeeeeeyyyyy!!! Perricone MD serum foundation? But quite pricey... YSL's BB cream is marvelous, otherwise Rimmel 24something...I have a review on my channel, but you would need to use in a veeeerrrryyy thin layer in order not to look too dry.

Hi Jure! I have deep set dark blue eyes with orange in the middle around the iris, black hair and fair / olive skin. Which colours should I use to compliment my features? Xx

Aloha Leslie (3 years ago)
Aloha AMS! A beautiful Sunday to you though I realize you did this video a year ago! A beautiful look! I really like coppery colors with blue eyes...gorgeous. A question for you: I am a mature woman (68) with deep set eyes and with age, they are now a bit hooded. And then we add the crepey component...BIG challenge. I was under the impression with deep set eyes that one doesn't want to put too much shadow in the crease area because it adds to the "depth," making the eyes look even more deep set. Would you be so kind as to explain your thoughts? Thanks so much!!!!! :))))))
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Aloha Leslie Awesome! Anytime babe! :)
Aloha Leslie (3 years ago)
I thought that's what you meant, but just wanted to make sure! Thanks so much! :)))
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
+Aloha Leslie I don't think I understand properly. Eyeshadow in the crease? Bright eyeshadows appear closer and dark eyeshadows push things in the back. On real deep set eyes, I'll usually use a bright colour all over the eyelid and make a dark C shape on the ends. :)
Will Abreu (4 years ago)
Love the colors you chose for eyes! Makes those blue eyes really pop!!!😍

Regina G (4 years ago)
Beautiful!  Please try to include the products you use.  Thanks!
AdviseMyStyle (4 years ago)
@Regina G Ciao Reginaaaaa! :) I usually include the products, but this time I didn't because I don't find them that good. I don't have much money to buy makeup at the moment, because life in London is seriously expensive, so I have what I have, but I don't want you girls buying some stuff that you won't like.
Veronika M (4 years ago)

Fiona Frazer (4 years ago)
Stunning colors - you are truly an artist !
AdviseMyStyle (4 years ago)
@Fiona Frazer Thank you! Look what I found on the internet and I agree with it totally. :)When you buy something from an artist you're buying more than a product or a service. You're buying hundreds of hours of errors and experimentation. You're buying years of frustration and moments of pure joy. You're not buying just one thing, you're buying a piece of a heart, a piece of a soul...a small piece of someone else's life. :)
Amrita Ray (4 years ago)
You should start putting the products you use in the description - it makes things easier for people trying to duplicate your looks or use products they're somewhat familiar with :) this is a beautiful look, by the way, love all the colors you used!
AdviseMyStyle (4 years ago)
@Amrita Ray Ciiiaaaoooo! I usually list the producst. I just don't list them when the products used are not the best to buy or when you can't buy them anymore. I have a very limited makeup case at the moment and I don't want you girls buying something useless.
Wilifili (4 years ago)
Haha your so funny! Loved this video, the colours looked amazing, her eyes just EXPLODED with that colour pallet and it totally matched her hair and everything. Beautiful work :)
AdviseMyStyle (4 years ago)
@Wilifili Lol! Yes, yeeeesss! This is a cool idea! I will do EYE EXPLOSION videos where I will be talking about colours. :) Sending you love from London! :)

Susanne - RangerMommy (4 years ago)
She looks fabulous. I love how you don't use filters on the model when you are applying the makeup. Thank you for sharing your technique about how to hold the brush to get a nice blend.  That is really helpful. Both of you are lovely!
AdviseMyStyle (4 years ago)
@RangerMommy OMG!? These filters bended the reality!!! Before people were complaining about Photoshop and then Facebook bought Instagram for 1 billion dollars!? :)

AdviseMyStyle (4 years ago)
@FunnyGaming Woooohhhhooo! :) Easy life for you then... :) Don't worry... When I get some money from this Youtube, I will start using drugstore cosmetics for one video and high end brands for the other. :)
Annmarie Zarzecki (4 years ago)
Very gorgeous and fresh! She is beautiful and you are a great makeup artist! I love how easy you make applying makeup can be and yet be so beautiful! :-) Annmarie
AdviseMyStyle (4 years ago)
@Annmarie Zarzecki Aaaawwwww!!! :) Cuuuteee! :) Makeup is easy. I don't want to wait for my girlfriend to get ready for two hours. ;)
Nikki POWELL (4 years ago)
The makeup looks sooo pretty!. I have deep set eyes and tend to stay away from dark colours because of it. But her eyes look pretty even with the dark colour on them. So I'm definitely going to be more imaginative with my choice of colours xxx
Tay Lette (3 years ago)
@AdviseMyStyle Thanks, I definetly saw the effect by the end! :D
AdviseMyStyle (3 years ago)
@Taylor M. Collette Hey babe, I applied the darker color in order to push the brow bone more in the back. The lighter colour in the start brings the eyes forward. :)
Tay Lette (3 years ago)
I felt the same way! I saw the deep colors he was pressing into the crease and thought "he's just going to make them look even deeper set!!", but it actually turned out very nice :).
AdviseMyStyle (4 years ago)
@Nikki POWELL Belllaaaa! :) Why not dark colours? Do your makeup, send me your photo on FB and I can give you some tips. ;)
